Week 11: Did you think to pray?

Hello! I hope you are all having a great week so far!

There has been lots going on this week, but it has been a good week nonetheless! We had an awesome stake activity Saturday. The stake president here is really mission oriented and he organized a stake activity for the youth. Each full time missionary got 3-4 youth and we took them out and proselyted. It was so much fun and it was a great learning experience for me and the girls I was with. They were super awesome and they each did a few door approaches by themselves! I was so impressed with them. Then we had a testimony meeting after and it was really cool to see how much they were able to grow from this experience. It made me even more grateful to be out serving a mission.

Then that night one of our investigators came to the visitors’ center! That was a huge step for her and she loved it so much! It is so amazing the spirit that people are able to feel when they come in and how much the Spirit is able to speak to them. She grew so much from that experience.

Also, today was transfers! Tuesday night Sister Davidson and I got the call that lists all the people that are being transferred, and we weren’t on it!! We get to stay in our area together!! I am very thankful to be able to continue to serve with her and to continue to teach all of our investigators here. Another awesome thing that came out of transfers was that they moved another set of sisters into our ward! That is definitely a great blessing because with us being in the visitors center all day we aren’t able to get to as many people as we would like to. But now there’s four of us in the ward so they will be able to help out! We also found out that we were switching districts which is super depressing because we were good friends with our district leader and his companion, they helped us out a lot since we don’t have any elders in our own ward. But that’s okay, a mission is for new experiences and to further the Lord's work, so it will be fun to learn from a new district leader and make more new friends. We get to keep Thursday p-days and stay in the same house, so that is awesome as well!

We had to clean some really awful dirty dishes at a members house so she gave us some of her t-shirts to wear over our dresses... haha good times

I read something in the Jesus the Christ book this morning that I found very inspiring. It said something along the lines that God doesn’t need our prayers. If we don’t pray to him he is still God. But if we don’t pray to him, we cannot get into heaven and be successful in this life. Praying is such a gift that we have and we should take full advantage of it while we are here on earth! Heavenly Father provided a way for us to receive divine inspiration and communicate with him and that is just so amazing to me. How blessed we truly are!

I love you all!
