Week 71: Transfer Week

Historic Liberty Jail

End of transfer testimony meeting and hymns

Hello everyone!
It has been a wonderful week! It is the last week of the transfer- transfers are this Thursday and I just cannot believe it! This transfer is my last transfer on the mission. Time flies when you are sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ :)
News from this week:
  • I am going to be training again!!! I am so excited! I love training and it will be a great way to end my mission!
    Last week with Sister Holt
  • One of the families that we are teaching came to church! And it was mother's day so it was the perfect day for them to come!! It was so exciting!
  • I got to take one of my favorite investigators from NKC ward on a tour last week. Seeing her just made my heart so happy! She has a really hard life but it was so special that we were able to see each other and talk about everything.
  • It was Mother's Day!  I got to talk to my family! That was wonderful of course. Families are the center of this gospel and its my favorite thing to be able to help others strengthen their families as they turn to Jesus Christ.
  • We got to do lots of service this week! There have been very few service opportunities in this ward so I was so grateful this week! My favorite one this week was this massive garden that we weeded! It was insane, we had to bring the whole zone over. But now the Relief Society is going to use that garden and plant vegetables in it so that they can make salsa in the fall. It is such a great idea!
  • The cutest old couple ever in my ward is getting sealed in the temple on Saturday. I am so excited! He is a recent convert so we get to visit them every other week, they are such wonderful people!

My thought this week come from a talk that I read. It is "The Infinite Power of Hope" by Elder Uchtdorf. In this talk he discusses the power of hope when our hope is centered on our Savior, Jesus Christ. He says that as we put our hope in the Savior and His atonement, then we can find peace and strength, especially during difficult times. One of my favorite quotes said, "And to all who suffer- to all who feel discouraged, worried, or lonely- I say with love and deep concern for you, never give in. Never surrender. Never allow despair to overcome your spirit. Embrace and rely upon the Hope of Israel, for the love of the Son of God pierces all darkness, softens all sorrow, and gladdens every heart." I just want to bear my testimony of the truthfulness of this message. As we turn to our Savior he will be there to succor us in the hard times, and to make the good times even better. I would love to invite all of you to read this wonderful talk.

I love you all!
