Hello!
It has been a wonderful week in the Missouri Independence
Mission. The flowers are blooming, everything is turning green, and we
are doing lots of work here!
Here are some of the best moments:
- Exchanges! I went on exchanges with Sister Gudgeon, my old companion! It was really great! We took some Spanish people on a tour but luckily they had an interpreter! The interpreter could only say about 5 words at a time, so we had to really think about what we were saying and say things really simply. It was a great teaching experience!
- I went to the dentist and at the end he gave me a sticker that said I have now joined the no cavities club #winning
- We received a referral last week for a woman who has been inactive for about 20 years and she wants to start coming back to church. I love her story, she wants to start coming back because she has seen the example of other people faithfully living the gospel and it has inspired her to make changes in her life. What a great gospel we are a part of!
Earlier
this week I was reading a talk about missionary work and it said that
we are conduits and channels, we are not the light. This really stood
out to me because as we all strive to share the gospel and be examples
of our Savior Jesus Christ, it is not us who is converting people. It is
the Spirit and the truths that they recognize. This definitely makes me
want to be the best vessel that I can be for the Spirit and the gospel.
That leads me to this amazing talk! This talk is called "Cleansing the
Inner Vessel" and it discusses things we can do to become better
examples and better vessels. I would love to invite all of you to read
it and pick something form it to apply to your lives. As we constantly
work on becoming better, the Lord is able to bless us with opportunities
to do so. https://www.lds.org/ general-conference/1986/04/ cleansing-the-inner-vessel? lang=eng
I love you all!
