Week 29: Baptisms and Spanish Dinners

Vaile Victorian Mansion in Independence

Hello everyone!
This has been an insane week! But I have loved every single second of it, here are a few of the things that happened this week :)

The Vaile Mansion - not as spooky as I have heard...

So Wednesday was the best day ever! We spent about 5 hours in the doctors office, but they finally figured out what has been wrong with my stomach! So we were super excited about that! While we were at the doctors, we got a text and a man moved into our ward who had previously been meeting with missionaries and he is on date for baptism! So that was so exciting. Then later that day we were tracting. Our zone plan for this past week was to invite someone to be baptized as a companionship, everyday. That was definitely really scary, and it took a lot of faith to complete this zone plan. So we were tracting and we started talking to this one lady and teaching her and she was pretty interested in the Plan of Salvation because she loves her family. I invited her to be baptized while we were talking on the doorstep, and she said yes!! That was a huge and exciting miracle!
Doctors Office

On Friday we went to the vc to wait for our dinner to be dropped off, and as we were waiting the Santa Fe ward mission leader came up to us and started speaking to us. Real quick, Santa Fe is the Spanish branch. He was speaking to us in Spanish.... He keeps pointing at the door and talking fast and we figure out that he wants us to come with him. So we look at the Spanish elders and they aren’t much help with translating, so we just went with all of them. They were speaking Spanish the entire time!!! The Elders started to translate for us, so that was nice, but it was so confusing! High school Spanish failed me... haha. But at the dinner, there was 2 English speaking investigators that Santa Fe had, so they referred them over to us, and they are both on date for baptism as well!! And they speak English thankfully. We saw so many miracles this week!

This article came out in the Ensign this month, and I loved it! It was not only cool because it has to do with my mission but also because it was a great article about trusting in the Lord and His will for us, even when we don't understand it. I would like to invite all of you to read it! Elder Bednar has so many great insights. https://www.lds.org/liahona/2017/07/on-the-lords-side-lessons-from-zions-camp?lang=eng&_r=1&cid=HP_MO_17-7-2017_dPFD_fLHNA_xLIDyL2-4_

I love you all!
