Week 26: Happy Independence Day from Independence!

Red, white and blue!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
Sorry for the late email, as visitor center sisters we have weird p-days every week and this week it was today from 3-9 pm.

It has been a great week! We were able to do a fun service activity with half of our zone earlier this week. We went to someone’s house that had been burned on the inside from a fire, and we tore down a lot of the burned walls and helped clean up all of the debris from it. The house is looking a lot better and luckily the fire wasn’t too serious, and they will be able to repair the house!

We had a great lesson with L. earlier this week! We started doing this thing with her today, where she gives up smoking for a week, and we give up treats. She has tried to quit so many times before, but we are going to be right there with her this time. And we are helping to teach her to rely on the Lord this time. It has been going great so far! I love watching the Gospel change peoples lives for the better.

Coolest thing ever happened this week!! I got to give a tour to the MTC choir director!! Basically the choir is the coolest part of the MTC, I learned so much from him when I was there because he teaches doctrine while he is teaching music. I was so honored to be able to give him a tour, and he had so many great insights to add as well!
I also gave a tour yesterday to a group of seminary and institute teachers from Utah. That was so scary!! Teaching teachers what they already know. But I tried to focus on the Spirit and keep it more Spiritual than factual, and I think it went really well. It was great to learn from them as well.

MTC Choir Director
It has been a great week and I am so blessed to be serving a mission. Throughout the week I have been able to talk to a lot of different people who are struggling in their life. Whether it was people who came into the Visitors' Center, members, friends, or my investigators. As I have been talking to them, I have been able to notice how Christ has been able to personally help each of them. That has been amazing to see that He is truly there for all of His children, in any situation they are in, as long as they are reaching out for Him.
I love you all!
