Week 38: Straight Fire

This week was so amazing!! Life changing really.
The highlights:
  • R’s kids got baptized!!! These are 3 kids that I worked with for 7.5 months. They mean so much to me and it was a dream come true when they got baptized.

  • Women’s conference was amazing!! I learned so much from it. If you didn’t have the chance to see it, you need to!

  • We have been having a spirit week at the jail!! We had a breakfast to kick it off and we played the funniest game ever. We all had baby pics of ourselves and we had to guess who was who and it was great!
    Jail Sisters!
  • I had exchanges with Sister Cooper!! One of the sisters I was in the MTC with. It was so much fun!
  • We have been doing service for the pink house lady, and we started bringing up the gospel and she is super open to it!! We can’t wait to go back!
  • Also, S. is doing amazing! She is getting baptized on Saturday and I can’t wait!
  • We found the James the Mormon rap, The Restoration, on our computers this week. We have been jamming ever since!!
I love the mission!
So this week I watched a video on Mormon channel about this man who came up with a question that changed his life. The question is, will this matter in 1000 years? If it’s not going to matter, why am I wasting time with it or wasting time worrying about it. It is a bold perspective, but I love it! When we don’t focus on small things that aren’t going to matter for very long, then we can find so much more peace. And when we focus on things that will matter in the long run, like building up our faith, then we can have a better focus in life.
I love you all!!

Week 37: HLJ for the win!!

Hello everyone! This week has been pretty awesome!
There is a house in our area that has pink everything! A pink mailbox, a pink door, a pink shed, just everything! So we decided to stop by last week and see who lives there. It was a really nice lady and she was so awesome! We are going back later in the week to do service with her.

We also had some really good lessons! We had one with our recent convert, who is 9 years old. She is so smart and understands so much about the gospel. Then we had a lesson with our investigator who is 11. She is getting baptized on the 30th and she is so excited!

Wednesday Sister Rust and I were both sick! But with completely different sicknesses, it was weird. So, we watched the restoration movie and that was AMAZING!

My favorite part of the week has been working in the Liberty Jail! I am so blessed to have this great experience.

A message that we have been sharing a lot recently is this awesome video, Why do we have prophets? It is on lds.org. I invite all of you to watch this video and start praying about someone that you could invite to general conference! I promise that as you pray, Heavenly Father will be able to reveal someone to you who needs to hear the message that will be shared.

Have a great week everyone! I love you all!

Week 36: Liberty Jail!

We helped at a genealogy project and a tree was there!

Hello everyone!
So this has been the most fantastical and amazing week of my entire life!! I’ve loved it!
Here are all the great things that happened:

  •   I GOT TRANSFERRED TO LIBERTY JAIL!!!! It is amazing!!
  •   My new ward covers part of Kansas City!! #Mydreamarea
  •   Sister Rust is my companion!! #mtc
We got a watermelon from Bill

  • we each have our own bathroom in our apartment! #lifechanging
  • Elder Christofferson came this past weekend and spoke at our stake conference and at a missionary conference they held that the whole mission went to!
The great MIM!

Stake conference was so amazing! The theme of it a lot was the plan of salvation. Which was really amazing because we taught the plan of salvation to our investigator later that day, who had been at stake conference. Something that was talked about a lot was that we were not sent to earth to  come back to Heavenly Father exactly the way we were but we need to go back changed. As we trust in the Lord and try and follow Him, then we can go back changed.

Life could not be better right now!!!
I love you all lots!
