Week 25: Extra Miles

How many Sisters can you fit on a Visitors Center couch? :)

Hello!
It has been such an amazing week! I just love the mission more and more each week. One of our investigators was able to come to church! She is a lady who lives across the street from our apartment complex and she is always out gardening so we help her garden and teach her at the same time. She is such a sweet lady and everyone was so excited to see here there. She was really able to feel the Spirit. It was great because so many people said hi and asked if she was coming back next week and that made her feel really welcome so she says she wants to continue coming back! It is so important to welcome new members!

We were also able to teach an awesome lesson to another investigator. She had to cancel our lesson that was planned for earlier in the week because she broke her arm. But we went and made her some brownies later on in the week and it really touched her. She let us in and asked us to read the Book of Mormon with her, it was great!
We also have been having great lessons with another investigator. She is going through a hard time but she knows that the gospel will be able to help her.

It is so great to see what the gospel does when it enters peoples lives! It truly changes it for the better!

The VC parking lot was packed!
The zone leaders gave us some extra miles for this month(we have a certain amount we are allowed to use each month in the car) and so we were able to go to the far reaches of our area and teach some people out there! That was a huge blessing because there are rarely extra miles. It was so great!

My companion is the greatest! I love training so much, and Sister Welch makes it so easy. She is so hard working and has such a strong love for the gospel, that she isn’t afraid to share it with anyone.

Clinton's Ice Cream Shop with Sister Welch and the VC directors! Clinton's was Harry Truman's first job, fun fact!
So this week our zone is focusing on charity. I love that because when we strive to have charity not only are we following Christ but people can see through our example, how powerful the gospel and having a testimony of Jesus Christ really is.

I love you all!

Week 24: Short Week

Hello!
My pday was changed to Tuesday, so I feel like I just emailed all of you! But nonetheless, it has been a great short week!
Sister Welch and I have been so busy, we have no time to breathe! Which is actually the best thing ever on a mission. I have been showing her how to take tours, and she is almost ready to take one by herself and she is doing so well! I am a proud mama.
We also got to see Leah this week and we have a lesson with her later this week. She has been doing really good and I love teaching her. She is so open to learning new things and so honest when she doesn't understand something, so we are able to help her. It is the best feeling ever when she finally understands something we have been teaching!
The vc is also getting super busy! Like we are on tours back to back and we have started having multiple bus tours everyday. I love it! We get to interact with and teach so many different people! My favorite is when youth come in, they are all so willing to learn about church history, it is so impressive!

We had a funny thing happen on mormon.org the other day. So someone called in and we answered and we were talking to them for a little bit and then after awhile they asked where we were serving, so we told them. Then they asked for our address, and we said, no we aren't allowed to give that out (cause that's creepy) and he says, But I want to send you cookies!!! .... That was quite the phone call....
Also, Father's Day snuck up on me this year. Happy late Father's Day to all of you great fathers out there, and especially my dad!!
I hope you all have a great week! Keep counting your blessings!

Week 23: I'm a mission mother!!!!

Independence Square

Hello everyone!
This past week has been so crazy, but so amazing at the same time!
I got a training call last week and so I had a training meeting on Saturday and I have been prepping to get a brand-new missionary all week. Transfers were yesterday so I finally got to meet her, and she is just the best! I am so excited to be able to learn from her and also help her learn how to share this great gospel with other people. Her name is Sister Welch and she just turned 19 and is from Cody, Wyoming. She had her first visitors center tours ever with me yesterday, and she did so good! I can’t wait to see what this great transfer has in store.

Me and Sister Welch!
It is finally starting to get hot and humid here in Missouri, and let me tell you, it is so different from Arizona! It is crazy! But it’s also not as hot as AZ, so that is pretty nice.

One of our investigators want to come to church this week, and a less active that we have been working with for months finally feels comfortable enough to come. I am so excited! This is my fourth transfer in this ward, so it is cool to be able to see the fruits of the work we did a few transfers ago and the work that we have continued to do.
By the original site of the Whitney and Gilbert store. They used the same bricks but they turned it into a cool kitchen store.

I have noticed that the theme of everyone I have talked to this week, and taken tours with is 2nd Nephi 31:19-21. I love this scripture, especially when it says, "I would ask if all is done". I love this because we are truly never done being converted to the Gospel or being converted to Christ. We need to keep them a constant and focus in our life so that we can continue to grow. Because we are always either progressing or going back, we can’t just stay the same. I know that as we continue to do the things in this verse and exercise our faith, then we will be able to see many miracles and be able to endure to the end happily.

I am loving mission life and I seriously love the people here in Independence. It is such a great place!
I hope you all have a great week!
Love you all,
Sister Cammack
