New companion! |
Hello all! It has been a crazy week! I finished normal MTC training and I am now in visitors' center training. And I leave for Missouri next week! On Tuesday morning all of the elders in my district left to go to the field and then Wednesday morning 3 of the sisters left including my amazing companion. I am so thankful for the time I had with her and with my district. It has been so hard staying here without them but I’m so thankful for the time we had together and I know they are doing amazing things in the field right now.
Visitors'
center training is intense! But I am loving it so much. We have more classes
now, so I’m in class for 8.5 hours a day and we study for 2.5 every day. In the
classes we focus on how to teach people and make a connection with them instead
of treating it like a normal tour or just saying the same things over and over
again. We also spend time in class being trained on the computers and on
calling people. We chat with people who have questions through mormon.org,
answers the calls of people who have questions and make confirmation calls for
people who have requested a Book of Mormon or Bible through mormon.org.
Mormon.org is such an amazing resource and I’d like to invite anyone who has
questions about the church or who feels like they are missing something in
their life to go to mormon.org. There you will be able to online
chat with missionaries, read articles that explain more about this church or
you can request a free Bible or Book of Mormon. Or if you are a member then I
invite you to show someone in your life who might be struggling right
now, mormon.org this week and help them take
advantage of all the amazing features it has. I know that as people come to
learn more of Christ, even through this website, that their lives will have
more meaning and they will be able to feel of God's love and see the blessings
that coming unto Him brings. If you accept my invitation to go to the website
or share it, I would love to hear about it!
Another cool thing about the visitors' center training is that we get to go to The Salt Lake City visitors' center and pair up with a missionary there and teach the people who come! I’m so excited!

All of the visitors' center sisters. Six of us are going to Independence and the rest to California. |
I know that my parents told some of you, but I’ve been having really awful stomach pains here at the MTC so I’ve been going to the doctor here a lot. They couldn’t figure out what it was and it was just getting worse and worse. So last Thursday I had a doctor appointment and he told me if it doesn’t get better I will have to go home until it does because he was afraid it was serious. That was very discouraging to hear and I did not want that because I love being here and serving. Then a few hours later, it flared up and was hurting a lot so I had to go back and luckily he was still there and because it was hurting so bad at that moment I was able to better show him where it was hurting and describe exactly how I felt. He knew almost instantly what it was and got me medicine for it. The medicine has been working and I am better now! I am so thankful for all of the prayers that have been said for me, and for the blessing that the amazing elders in my district gave me because I know that it was a miracle that I was able to go to the doctor during a flare up and that he was able to figure it out so quickly. Heavenly Father truly is mindful of all of us. Thank you all!
I love this gospel so much and everyday I’m here I find ways to love it even more, which is such a blessing in my life. I can’t wait to serve the people of Missouri next week! Remember that missionary work isn’t just for missionaries!
Much love,
Sister Cammack
