Week 7: Sunny Days

Good morning!

This week has been another great one! The weather here has been amazing this week, which I have definitely been grateful for because it is supposed to snow next week... Everyone keeps saying that I brought the sun over from Arizona. My companion and I have been able to visit a lot of people and teach them.

This past Sunday the Kansas City temple president and his wife came to talk in church. It was so amazing hearing them speak and feeling the spirit that they brought to the meeting. They both shared about the importance of temples and temple attendance and President Karpowitz shared something that really resonated with me. He said something along the lines of, no matter what you are feeling, whether you feel inadequate, depressed, lonely, overweight, mad, or upset, take it to the temple. The temple will help you with whatever it is in life you are dealing with. Even if you can’t go through the temple, just sit in the waiting room and feel the spirit. I really liked this because a lot of those emotions you wouldn’t automatically connect the temple as being a solution to them. But we are so blessed to have temples and as we regularly attend them, I know we will be blessed and that we will be able to find comfort while dealing with our struggles.

I love serving at the Visitors’ Center and even though we are in our slow months, it is still such a blessing to be here. I am pretty excited because we have some buses coming in later next week and about 200 people are supposed to come! That is more people than we usually get in 3 or 4 days!

I am so grateful to be serving the people her in Missouri, they are so amazing and I love getting to meet more and more people each day! I hope that you are all doing well!

We went to the independence square for p-day!! It was super adorable, not much there but cute. We went to El Pico for lunch, went to a cute ice cream shop that Harry Truman worked at after and went to a few shops. One of the shops was a Scandinavian shop, so that was way cool. This town is so super obsessed with Harry Truman. Evereeery thing is Harry Truman designed. His house is close to my house too #coolio but yeah, p-day was so fun!

Week 6: Happy Valentine's Day

Logan and her trainer, Sister Davidson

Hello!
I’ve been here in Missouri a full week! I can’t believe it’s only been a week, we have been able to do so much and visit so many people. It’s been so awesome!
So I am in the Visitors Center for one shift (6 hours) 4 days a week. Then on Sundays we are only there for 2.5 hours because of church and other meetings, and then one day a week is p-day and one day a week is a full proselyting day. I love being in the Visitors Center! The spirit is always so strong and I’m learning so much history there. I don’t know enough to give a history tour yet, but I’m close! Hopefully this next week! I’ve been able to take the lead on the tours that don’t have history, and that has been so cool.

We did a lot of visiting less actives this week, which was such a cool experience! We were very blessed because almost all of them let us in and we were able to talk about Christ with them and help them out. We also did some door knocking this week and by the end of the week, I was able to take the lead on a few of them. My trainer is so amazing, she has helped me learn so much, so quickly!
I have definitely been very humbled this week. Most of the people we talked to this week have been through insanely challenging things in their life but they are still happy people, and they still have great attitudes about life. It has definitely been inspiring to see and get to know all of them. It also changed my point of view a lot, all of the little things I used to worry so much about don’t even matter, and I can see how much I’ve taken for granted in my life. We truly are blessed and it’s so important that we remember that, and that we remember to keep Christ in our life because His gospel truly is the only way and it is the way that will bring us happiness, even through the hardships.
I hope all is well! Have a great week!

Much love,
Sister Cammack

Logan wearing her Great Grandma's skirt given to her after she passed away this month.

So cool story about the skirt. I was wearing it yesterday and I was so excited about it, I was thinking about it and about Great Grandma a lot all day. So we were door knocking and door knocking is ROUGH here because everyone is either super religious or super not and no one wants to hear what you have to say. So we go down this street and I knew it was my turn to take the lead on this next house (which is kind of scary cause you never know what will happen) so as we are approaching the house I’m thinking about Great Grandma and I hear her say that she’s with me and I could feel that she was. Then I knocked on the door and this lady answered and she was interested!!!!!!We are going back to her house today and I’m so pumped!!! But yeah, pretty cool how Great Grandma was able to help me.
