Hello hello!
This week was incredible! The
mission is seriously just the best place, and the New Mark ward is amazing! It
is full of great people who are really reaching out and doing missionary work!
- last p-day we had a cake
decorating competition! It started out really rough when our cake wouldn’t come
out of the pan and we frosted the cake hot pink and then realized we couldn’t
do anything with the hot pink..... but I would say we definitely redeemed
ourselves! pics to come
- I got to have a skype lesson with someone I used to teach in one of my old areas and basically that made it the best day of my life. I love her so much!
- Our ward had its pinewood derby/chili cook off and it was so much fun! But even better! We had 2 investigators come and the ward fellowshipped them so much that we didn’t even need to be by them. It was the craziest thing I have ever experienced but it was amazing! Also, the chili was way good.
- Sister Davidson (my trainer) went
home :( BUT! I got to be the one to take her to the airport!! I almost died it
was such a cool experience! She spent the night with Sister Farnsworth and I
and then we woke up early and got her on a plane to Wyoming. I learned so much
from Sister Davidson, and it was so special being able to hear how the rest of
her mission went and to be able to keep learning from her!
Last day of Sister Davidson's mission, first day of my mission
the trio!
- So, church yesterday, super amazing. The Bishop pulls me aside and tells me that he has someone who wants to be baptized! This ward everyone, it just blows me away.
I feel so humbled and grateful for
the amazing experiences that my Heavenly Father is allowing me to have on my
mission. I have learned so much and I marvel at the miracles I have the
opportunity to see happen every day!
For my spiritual thought this week I
would love to talk about member missionary work. I love this quote from Elder
Ballard, "Remember, brothers and sisters, we’re not marketing a product.
We’re not selling anything. We’re not trying to impress anyone with our numbers
or our growth. We are members of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, empowered
and sent forth by the Lord Himself to find, nourish, and bring safely into His
Church those who are seeking to know the truth."
The responsibility to help bring our
brothers and sisters home rests on all of us. I love member missionary work
because it doesn’t need to be anything crazy or elaborate, often times it is
the small things that make the biggest difference. Somethings I have seen is
members who bring pass along cards with them everyone, members who invite
people over to dinner with the missionaries, members inviting people to church
or baptisms. But what it really all comes down to is just being open about how
and why you live the way you do. I would love to invite you all to pick
something you can do this week to be a better member missionary and then do it!
I know the Lord blesses all our efforts.
I love the Lord and I love His work!
Much love!
